@ Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies

Colombo Institute organizes lectures, discussions and short courses at the premises of the Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies in collaboration with BCIS on themes of mutual interest.  So far, the events organized include Dr Roma Chatterji’s lecture, ‘A Ramayana for the Dark Age of Kali: Superheroes, Science Fiction and Myth’ on 2 July 2025; the Advanced Workshop Series in ‘Creative Research Methods in Social Sciences’ conducted by Dr. Sasanka Perera and Dr Anushka Kahandagama in May and June 2025; the lecture, ‘The Sociologist & Poet: It Takes Two to Tango’ by Dr Sasanka Perera focused on creativity in social sciences on 27 May 2025; the lecture, ‘On Women Eating an Men Cooking in Public Places’ by Dr Pooja Kalita on 4 April 2025 and the lecture, ‘New Buddhist Movements in Postwar Sri Lanka: Negotiating Power and Authority’ on 28 March 2025 by Dr Anushka Kahandagamage.
